The main difference between drawing and illustration is that drawing is a form of
self-expression whereas illustration is a professional work which has a commercial
value. In addition, drawings can stand alone as art whereas illustrations always
accompany text. Illustration is a decoration, interpretation, or visual explanation of
a text, concept or process, designed for publication in a variety of media. Illustration
plays a key role in all formats where visual meaning and storytelling use images to
render a narrative. Drawings and illustrations techniques also forms part of my design
process, drawing logos out and stylise concepts for t-shirts and other designs.
